With the passage of a package of legislation that will pave the way for Oregon to reform our approach to health care, and with this bipartisan and comprehensive effort to shape the future of Oregon, now is the time to create private and public partnerships to effect this change. The public and private sectors can lead the way.
As we observe various states wade into health care reform, and with 2008 being a presidential election year, we in Oregon have the capability and the opportunity to frame the national debate, in moving forward on Senate Bill 329 and other reform measures.
